The Mazda6 features a sporty design and performance yet reliable and fuel efficient. The new upgraded Mazda6 retains dynamic driving at its heart with which ever engine you choose. Available with the 2.5L 170HP engine standard in the Mazda GS I4 trim and a 3.7L V6 272HP in the Mazda 6 GS-V6 and GT-V6 trim.
What Car? awarded the Mazda6 with both the 'Family Car' and 'Estate Car of the Year 2010'. The Mazda6 has also won 'Best Estate Car' title at the 2010 Fleet News awards and 'Which Best Buy Large Car in July 2009. To add to the success of the Mazda6, most recently the Mazda6 Estate won 'Best Car' at the 2010 Fleet World Honours.
The new upgraded Mazda6 has a range of cutting edge safety features in order to let you enjoy the drive. Throughout the range six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (D SC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Electronic-force Distribution (EBD) are featured as standard. As well as Emergency S top Signal (ESS) system which helps prevents collisions from the rear. When you brake heavily, it flashes the hazards warning lamps rapidly to warn the car behind.
The Mazda6 or Mazda 6 (known as Mazda Atenza in Japan) is manufactured in Japan since 2002, it sold one million cars before any other Mazda in history. The Mazda6 was the first line of vehicles which Mazda launched with a new sporty-style design, which was followed by the Mazda2 in 2002 in Europe and Japan, the Mazda RX-8 in 2003, the Mazda3 in 2004, Mazda5 in the summer of 2005 and Mazda CX-7 in November 2006. The Mazda 2 was relaunched in Canada in 2009 and now has the 2011 Mazda 2 Canada version.
The first generation Mazda 6 arrived in Canada with two optional engines a 2.3L engine for the Mazda 6i and a V6 3.0L engine for the Mazda 6s. Like the Mazda 3 hatchback, the Mazda6 was offered with a station wagon version, marketed in Canada as the Mazda6 Sport Wagon. When it first arrived in North America it arrived as a 2003 model in the USA and a 2004 in Canada.
The second generation of the Mazda6 premiered at the 2007 Auto Show in Frankfurt. It arrived at the Mazda dealers in Canada as the Mazda6 2009 model. The Mazda 6 is mounted on a Ford based platform which is also used for the Ford Fusion and Ford Edge and the SUV Mazda CX-9.
